Trouble with fresh DC Installation on m.2 SSD - bootloop

Post by WaystormZ »

Hello all :)

I've got a small/big Problem with the Encryption of my Boot Partition:
MB: ASUS ROG STRIX B450 Gaming - Bios up to date (4602)

I changed my Drive from a Samsung 840 EVO SSD to Samsung 980 m.2 NVME
I just made a fresh Installation of Win 10 Pro x64. (21H2)

(I used this Video for Installation many Times on my 840 EVO)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaQEzA2ye4U

Installation of DC - reboot
Open DC
Click C: (sys) -> Encrypt

Encryption Settings
Algorythm AES
Wipe Mode None

Boot Settings nothing changed (Partition with Boot was highlighted)

Volume Password
Password writen & Confirmed
Layout QWERTZ

Partition is encrypting

Tools -> Bootloader Config
made my loader.iso
changed config MAIN to Keyboard Layout QWERTZ -> Save Changes

Windows Restart after Status "mounted"
Bootloop or corrupt winload.efi (with other bios settings)

--------
after my first Bootloop i tried many options in various ways:

Encryption of "boot" Partition too (same as above)
Set Recovery of Boot to NO (bcedit /set {current/default} recoveryenabled NO) (and bcedit /set bootstatuspolicy ignoreallfailures) [as Admin]
BIOS: SCM avtivated/deaktivated

Is there a way you can help me? Only curious thing is that Windows make 3 Partitions
16mb NTFS
456gb NTFS <sys
100mb FAT32 <boot

-- last thing i'll try now is:
ReInstallation on Samsung 840 EVO to see, if NVME is the problem. If so, i'll maybe can duplicate a fresh Win Installation from there (encrypted) to the m.2

Greetings

Your issue is that your new installation is UEFI, but the iso boot loader is BIOS/MBR only, if you did nto install an UEFI bootloader to the HDD or created a bootloader UEFI usb stick you will not be able to boot.

You can however create a appropriate UEFI usb stick on any PC and use it with any other pc.

Do you mean create a windows uefi bootloader for diskcryptor or for windows? I am currently having this issue as well.
