Hi all, after encrypting the C: drive on my laptop SSD, disk I/O speeds frequently drop to extremely low levels (less than 1 MB/s). This usually happens whenever I read or write any large amount of data, such as a multi-gigabyte file, and the speeds persist for up to half an hour, causing programs to freeze and the computer to become generally unusable until disk I/O speeds return to normal. I thought the issue was specific to SSDs, but I purchased a brand new laptop HDD, cloned the drive over, and observed even slower speeds (less than 5 MB/s normally with frequent drops to less than 1 MB/s) and the same freezing issues. Does anyone know what might be causing this or if there's anything I can do about it?
