Chrome installer throws error 44. Previous versions worked but the most recent version won't install.

Error log shows line "Failed to create the folder: \GoogleSystem\GoogleUpdater, error: 80070032". It appears installer wants to access Task Scheduler service and fails.

Is there a way to install Chrome within Sandboxie?

There have been no other reports like this, so far, what means that it does not happen to everyone, or they have not noticed any issue, yet.

You could try:

Code: Select all

FakeAdminRights=y
In the user interface of SandMan, you can set this in the Sandbox Options > Security Options > [Security Hardening] > "Make applications think they are running with elevated ..."

Thanks for your reply. I already have FakeAdminRights in configuration. Previous Chrome version were able to be installed and it's the recent version that reported error 44. I'll wait and see if other users would run into this same problem.
