Updates Fail - COM Surrogate not closing

I'm using Windows 11 Pro.
This problem started some time back.

When I update either from within the program or as a downloaded .exe file I get a window telling me COM Surrogate needs to close (not exact words).
In order to continue I have to bring up Task Manager and manually "End process" for each occurrence of COM Surrogate.

I have also tried running the .exe file by selecting "Run as administrator".

I'm not sure if this is a bug or some issue with my Asus Laptop.
Does anybody have any ideas?

As far as I know, there have been no reports of it failing for that reason, while I recall it having failed for one person.

With a tool like Sysinternals ProcessExplorer or ProcessHacker or TaskExplorer among other tools, you can check, which process is the parent of each COM Surrogate (dllhost.exe) just so get a clue of what might be preventing the update procedure.
