have been using sandboxie for 6 months to multi box on a steam game with no problems. last week i had some issues and deleted steam, the game, and sandboxie to get a fresh update.

let me try to explain my problem, i place the files in sandboxie and i get the run box with a drop down to load the file everything works. the problem happens after i restart my system, in the main window i click run on the box i want to use and all that happens is a tree line from that box that says start.exe and the run window will not open, i get failed to start program messages.

Someone started a discussion at GitHub, but there are no replies. This appears to be rare, as there are no issues for it, not did someone say he or she has the same problem.

What version of Sandboxie do you use? (e.g. Sandboxie-Plus 1.16.8) and what version of Windows are you on? (e.g. Windows 11 24H2)

solved. computer novice so bear with me. i thought i did the most aggressive delete i could but it left the sboxie folder in my program file and kept downloading to it, there must be some info still attached to that file causing me problems. i created a new folder in my program86 files and downloaded sboxie there, everything is working great now.

is there a way to delete the old sboxie file and all its related info so i don't have this issue in the future if i need to download again.

If you used the uninstaller, it is supposed to remove the files that were placed during the installation process. If there are still leftovers, you can delete them with the Windows function.

The installer should offer to upgrade (or downgrade) the installed version. It should not allow installing more than one version at the same time. Sandboxie-Plus itself should not care if it has been installed to a different folder, as it is supposed to detect its own folder.
