License and Development

Hello. We plan to provide services by creating a program that utilizes the functions of sandboxie plus. Here are two questions.

1. I understand that I need to purchase a certificate license for commercial use. If I purchase a license (sandboxie plus business), how many people can use it?

2. Do we need to install sandboxie in order for the program we developed to use the functions of sandboxie-plus? We do not want sandboxie to be installed separately when the program we are developing is installed. Is there a way to register and use only the core service without installing it?

Please check.

Hello, please get in touch by email. David is handling the licensing of Sandboxie-Plus.

1) According to https://xanasoft.com/product/sandboxie-plus-business/ it requires as many business certificates as there will be seats. As far as I understand it, this means per person using it at the same time. E.g. person A uses it on the machine, logs out, then person B uses it, it will be one seat. If person A and person B use it, at the same time, that would be two seats. David surely can clarify on that. Edge cases might be handled differently, as well as large scale use-cases.

2) Its driver needs to be installed to the system. David will be able to provide you with details.

If you find that Sandboxie-Plus is lacking something, it would be interesting if you could add those features to it, which could be part of the license agreement. This is just my idea. David is handling the development and the business side.

Thank you. Please reply or email me as soon as possible to decide on licensing and development issues. Thank you.

1. as described by bastik-1001

2. The core components can be installed "manually" without the GUI, but then not all functionality will be available

To your other question from the email about using C# you would need to eider create an interface library from scratch, or use calls to SbieDll.dll in the later case your entire project must be GPLv3.
Sandboxie-Plus uses a custom library QSbieAPI.dll but that one is Qt based to it wont integrate nicely into a C# project.

I could develop a Interface library which plays nicely with C# if you guarantee a substantial minimum order volume of business licenses.
Further licensing details we can discuss over email.
