It takes a long time to exit explorer.exe

After modifying the sandboxie.ini configuration file by adding NoAutoExitExplorer=y, I noticed that when launching explorer.exe and clicking the × button, it takes a very long time to exit automatically.

What is the reason for this? explorer.exe wait something timeout?
Could the NoAutoExitExplorer configuration option have been added specifically to cause this behavior?
