How to run programs that need a network device but still without internet?

Meh

I wanted to run Curseforge and ComfyUI in a sandbox without internet access. They both work totally fine out of sandbox when I disconnect from a network, but will not work properly when running in a sandbox that has blocked access to network devices. Is there a workaround/solution for this? I'm guessing these programs need to be able to detect/use a network device even if there is no connection to the internet from that device.

Hello, you can select a different blocking method (WFP) for that box.

Sandbox Options > Network Options > "Set network/internet access for unlisted processes:" and select "Block using Windows Filtering Platform" from the drop-down menu.

Edit: You can toggle internet access by right-clicking on the sandbox, "Sandbox Presets" and then "Block Internet Access" to toggle it on or off, whenever needed.

Hello, thanks for getting back to me. I don't see any option to block using WFP. These are my only options:

Edit: Just to note, I do have a certificate but I didn't renew my Patreon subscription because I couldn't get it to work the way I wanted it, so it'll run out eventually. I'd be happy to renew my subscription on Patreon if we could get this to work.

Apparently, WFP support still needs to be enabled in the global settings. Global Settings > Advanced Config > [Sandboxie Config] > "Sandboxing Features" where you can tick "Enable Windows Filtering Platform to restrict network access"

This way of blocking network access has been added, since some programs did not like the "no device" approach, but depending on what the application tries to do it might still fail and complain about it.

When your subscription level includes the DNS/proxy tier, you could also attempt to enter a proxy, which does not exist, or which you control, so it can't send anything anywhere.

Okay I don't think this will work. It's hard to tell but I think even with WFP blocking mode, programs still can't make sockets or something?
