"Error code 2" when installed. When I launch it asks me to reboot

Hello everyone,

I started my computer and wanted to use DiskCryptor which froze each time I started it.

I then reinstalled it. Yet, when I did it it told me "error occurred while installing driver error code 2".
I nonetheless pursued the installation.

However each time when I launch it it tells me "You must restart your computer before the new settings take effect".
But when I restart the computer nothing changes (it always ask me to restart).

How can I solve this issue?

Thanks a lot.

I don't use the software, which is why I don't reply to many of the topics related to it. David is having to address some topics around here, but I found something that might be helpful.

A user had the same error code and was able to get it to work by installing the driver manually.

I have managed to get it running by manually installing the driver right click on dcrypt.inf and install.
Full context of that message.

Thanks for your answer.

If I understand correctly, to install the driver I should launch dcrypt.inf.

I downloaded the diskcryptor-master from github, and when I go in the folder diskcryptor-master\diskcryptor-master\bartpe there is the file "dcrypt.inf"

However when I right click/install it, it returns me an error telling me that the INF file does not take into account this method of installation (the required section has not been found in the file).

I guess I'm not doing the right thing (I'm a noob with this kind of things).

Thanks a lot.

Sorry, I don't know how to proceed. You have to hope that someone will reply with instructions or other ways to resolve this.

You need to remove all dcrypt.sys files from your system (application directory and/or system directory) after uninstalling the application, and then reinstall it.
