Edge when run in Sandboxie Plus, home button is missing, address bar search engine defaults back from Google to Bing and Ublock Origin Lite crashes.I tried this on another computer with Sandboxie Plus and Edge all default settings and Sandboxed Edge responds the same way. It started after Edge updated. I am surprised there is not more reports on this.

I am surprised there is not more reports on this.

There are some reports about it, in this forum, and on GitHub, maybe even at other places. Maybe the update is not rolled out to everyone. Your issue it tracked on GitHub. #5190 appears to be a duplicate.

Chromium based browsers (Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, have been mentioned) changed something that makes them incompatible with Sandboxie. For Chrome, it has helped to disable the chrome elevation service, as this service resets Chrome (restores its settings) if it believes something else changed the settings. This might not help with the addons/extensions, which also has an issue open.

For Edge, I don't know about a workaround.

It appears that changes in the browsers are causing this and Sandboxie has to adapt to it.

Thank you for your reply.
Yes last Edge update really messed things up. Just before that, Edge ran really well sandboxed. Hopefully those incompatibilities will be fixed in upcoming Sandboxie version.

Well, my bad....spoke to soon. After Edge 144.0.3719.104 update....before I called my Edge sbox. Edge extensions were wiped and home/start page reverts to default. And Edge sbox reverts home/start to default after I rebuilt Edge settings to my preference outside sbox.
And I have this line in my Edge red sbox .ini.
Code:
NormalFilePath=msedge.exe,%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\*

Actually disabling just Microsoft Edge Elevation Service resolved the issue for me. Now Edge run sandboxed retains home button, google search engine in address bar and extensions do not crash.

Thank you for your suggestion.

Google Chrome had similar issue and disabling elevation service resolved the issue as well.

It all suggests that Sandboxie and Elevation Services of Chromium based browsers after recent updates are not compatible.

Oh okay. I thought you had tried just Elevation Service with no joy.
Edit: now I'm Elevation = Disabled with the two Update Service = Manual (Trigger start)
We'll trial this for a while.

I'm still rebuilding Chrome and Edge after updates.
and #18 does not "fix" my Edge Home button with 1.16.9
Does 1.17.2 "fix" your Chrome and Edge?
