Sine my desktop PC is in repair, I am using my older laptop (Windows 7) for the time being. I purchased a 1 TB external HDD (mostly empty), and started to encrypt it using Diskcryptor. After two days, I was at 33%, but then (due o the extreme heat this summer in the Caribbean) my laptop shut down in front of my eyes while Diskcryptor was doing his encryption.
When my laptop was on again, the external drive was appearing as unformatted (like it would have been fully encrypted). I was able to use DiskCryptor to mount that only partially encrypted external drive, and the few files on it showed up.
Here are my questions:

Does the encryption of this drive need to be continued to full 100%?

And if so, how to continue?

Are the few files that now are visible again despite only partial encryption healthy?
These few files used only 1 GB of the available 1 TB of space.
