Country Flags....

I don't like ...
The flags are only GUI elements, but useless. They do not add any extra information but use more RAM.
RAM used by NeoLoader is already a problem. ;-)

The RAM problem is not reproducable on my PC, but it will be surely fixed, and this option can be added switchable. I'll appreciate it too :)

I like the country flag cause is the main "tool" to recognize fake video files: if i'm downloading a film in italian Language and i see 300+ peers with spanish flags.... there is something wrong for sure

I agree, but a curiosity: are you using an old version of uT client or what? and ur italian? :)

The linked image is from an early version of utorrent: the flags are the same used in ip2country under emule, converted to utorrent bitmap format
And Yes, sono italiano :sun glasses2:

Not true.
With a simple string ESP or ITA you could do the same thing.

I prefer flags, make it switchable, if I want use I'll, if I don't want I'll not activate. I don't see the problem, IMHO the memory use of that feature is not relevant.

"I prefer" is not a valid argument, or is not longer relevant than memory usage. ;-)
ALL functions can be switchable. Would you see Neoloader become like NeoMule?

My vision is to keep, as much as possible, the user away from the settings, because the average user each time that goes into setting think that, clicking randomly buttons, they will get some benefit or boost.
The user should, instead , start NeoLoader and feel that is already running and perfectly working, without touching anything. :)

It doesn't mean that we can't add a switchable settings for country flag, they don't use a lot of CPU, will stay off by default, and who want them can activate. I like them because they makes UI more "eye friendly" then a ITA-ESP-GER...

p.s. As said in 1st post, is not a priority.

In the network NeoMule is used (and was used) maybe from less than 1% of users.
It's a good reason for not replicate this strategy.

I don't agree, and I still not see any problem to add a switch, that is surely not a priority. Many eMule mods in fact got this feature.

Also uT had it. The memory usage for those small flag icons is really irrelevant.

1 simple checkbox for 1 option.
In future, 100 checkboxes for 100 options?

With my solution , 1 slider for ALL options. I don't see any chaos in "Poor/Normal/Rich" strings.

The slider is so much restrictive for an expert user. And actually there are not 100 options, in future, IF we'll reach 100 option, we could use the slider.

in future if you do not have a developer with much time to waste, you can not change anything. The changes of code & GUI require a lot of time.

If the "medium user" see it ugly he will not just try it.

We will not add country flags anytime soon, even if ts not a major waist of CPU and memory, its a waist of Developmant time, and thats bad enough.
